Dovizioso happy with developments
The Repsol Honda rider tested a range of aspects on his factory RC212V at Brno and is hopeful their immediate application will help him in the next round at Indianapolis.
Andrea Dovizioso’s day of testing at Brno produced some encouraging advances for the Repsol Honda rider, and the Italian hopes that the work completed on the front-end of his RC212V will help him at Indianapolis.
The Repsol Honda rider suffered the disappointment of crashing out of the Cardion ab Grand Prix Czech Republic on Sunday but was hard at work once more on Monday at the official MotoGP test. He is now hopeful that the progress made will make for an improved showing in round ten of the 2010 campaign.
“We tested the new Öhlins front forks and shock for next year and we will take a look at the data collected from those runs to verify the results. We also tested this year’s Öhlins components with modified settings, and the feeling was good so we’ll take those to the next race at Indianapolis,” said the 24 year-old after the Brno test.
“We made some adjustments to the front set-up which has improved the stability. Our plan was also to test some modifications to the electronic controls and we started this, but the rain interrupted us so we didn’t get through the full programme. Still, we did some valuable work today which should help us at the upcoming races. Everything we tried we will use at Indy.”
Dovizioso currently sits fourth in the World Championship standings, just four points behind Casey Stoner and now heading to a track at which he has placed fifth and fourth in the past two seasons.
