Aleix Espargaró: 2010 season review

motogp.com looks back over the campaign of each premier class rider with a video which compiles the most pivotal moments of their year.

After impressing with stand-in rides for the Pramac Racing team at the end of the 2009 season Aleix Espargaró’s reward of a full-time seat with the team in 2010 saw the Spaniard run his first complete campaign in MotoGP.

Finishes of ninth and eighth at Le Mans and Mugello respectively made for a promising start and were part of Espargaró’s six top-ten finishes. They were interspersed with crashes as well however as Espargaró impressed when riding well but struggled for consistency, with a fall in his home GP at Catalunya a particularly frustrating one for the youngster.

With space at a premium on the 2011 MotoGP grid Espargaró was unable to retain his place and the Catalan rider will make the switch to the Moto2 class for the new season with the Pons team.
