Savadori’s Jerez test cut short by fall

Sunday, 7 March 2010

An injury picked up in a crash in the final moments of the first day of the test means the Italian 125cc rider’s weekend has ended early.

The official test at Jerez has ended early for Lorenzo Savadori. The Matteoni CP Racing rider sustained a micro fracture of the radius and detached cartilage in his left arm following an incident in the closing stages of the late session on day one.

The young Italian was riding in a group along with Luís Salom, Jonas Folger and Marcel Schrötter when the Spaniard’s braking in the final turn before the finish line forced Savadori to make a move which ended with a fall.

Savadori’s arm will be in a cast for 16 days and he will visit Dr. Claudio Costa in Bologna on March 24th, when a decision on his participation at the third and final official pre-season test at Jerez – due to commence on March 26th – will be made.
