Marco Melandri: 2010 season review
motogp.com looks back over the campaign of each premier class rider with a video which compiles the most pivotal moments of their year.
Marco Melandri’s eighth season in the premier class saw the Italian return to the San Carlo Honda Gresini fold with whom he finished runner-up in 2005, and after a positive start to the campaign which saw finishes of sixth and fifth at Le Mans and Mugello respectively he struggled to improve his feeling on the RC212V.
A dislocated shoulder in a crash at Assen did little to aid Melandri’s case, and whilst he managed to consistently finish in and around the top ten the decision was taken to seek a new challenge away from the World Championship in 2011.
In the attached motogp.com video you can review Melandri’s 2010 campaign, in which he became the youngest rider to make 200 Grand Prix starts across all categories.
