Montoya enjoys a taste of MotoGP
The former F1 driver and current NASCAR star experienced a Ducati Two Seater ride with former MotoGP rider Randy Mamola at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.
Juan Pablo Montoya was a special guest in the MotoGP paddock at Indianapolis on Sunday, as the Colombian former Formula 1 driver joined Randy Mamola for a Ducati Two Seater ride around the famous Brickyard.
“It was great! I’m a very good friend with Randy and he’s been trying to get me on a bike for many years, so it was nice to do it! It’s incredible with the corner speed and how far down you lean on the bike. You don’t really realise until you do it,” explained Montoya.
“It wasn’t scary but it was really hard to hang on when he gets on the brakes because you have no control on how hard it’s pressing, you’re just trying to hang on! It’s a lot of fun but a lot of hard work!”
Montoya explained his admiration for MotoGP and also his enthusiasm for the sport which dates back some years.
“I have always been a big fan of two wheels, I always used to go to the Jerez race and I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now. It’s always exciting,” he added.
