Márquez displays new bike and colours

Marc Márquez enjoyed a very special day on Wednesday at the Circuit de Catalunya. The young Repsol rider used his new machine, a Derbi RSA 125, and design for the first time, and also celebrated his 17th birthday.

Márquez went out on the track after 3pm and returned to the garage after completing just 10 laps, enough time to ease in the new machine. Just before 4pm, it started raining again at the circuit, bringing to an end his short day after he had checked the bike worked correctly.

“I was looking forward to getting on the bike and getting back into the rhythm, but I’ll have to wait because the track conditions were not the best today. The day was spent more on taking photos and presenting the bike to journalists than testing,” he said.

“The asphalt wasn’t dry or wet enough to ride with the wet set-up. We waited until the afternoon, but it still hadn’t dried out, so we took advantage to run in the bike, which is completely new, and spent a second stint checking that everything was okay and getting it ready for tomorrow. We hope that the weather conditions are good.”
