Activity gets underway at Sepang

As is the norm the first day of the second official MotoGP test of 2010 on Wednesday was scheduled as a day for test riders only.

Yamaha and Suzuki were the two factories who took advantage of the first of the three days at the Sepang International Circuit. Yamaha sent out Norihiko Fujiwara and Wataru Yoshikawa whilst Nobuatsu Aoki rode the GSV-R for Suzuki on Wednesday, with Honda opting not to bring their test rider. Ducati’s Vittoriano Guareschi did not take the Desmosedici GP10 out.

Customary high temperatures (34ºC) met those who did take to the asphalt as Suzuki prepare to use this test to introduce the new GSV-R engine, with Yamaha continuing on the development of the YZR-M1.

Thursday’s testing is due to start at 10am local time, with the official MotoGP riders starting the second tests of their respective 2010 prototypes. Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo will not be riding however due to a hand injury.
