Wet track complicates Rossi’s second morning in the Ferrari

Sunshine greeted Valentino Rossi at the Circuit de Catalunya on Thursday morning as he commenced the second and final day of testing a Ferrari Formula 1 car. Despite the ideal weather, the condition of the track was in fact worse than Wednesday due to overnight rain in Barcelona.

Emerging from the Pit Lane at 10.28am and driving on wet tyres, Rossi completed a single lap before opting to return to the garage and await better conditions. At 11.16am he took to the track on wets once more, this time taking in 10 laps and clocking a best time of 1’44.4.

Shortly after midday Rossi managed to change to slicks, and improved to register a fastest time of 1’28.5 – just under three seconds off his Wednesday best of 1’25.6. He will return to the track this afternoon, and motogp.com will bring you a further update of his efforts later in the day.

Also in attendance at Montmeló as special guests in the Pit Lane are Rossi’s Italian Team Manager at Fiat Yamaha, Davide Brivio, and official Ferrari F1 driver Felipe Massa.
