RSM Team Scot make official presentation

On Tuesday RSM Team Scot, directed by Cirano Mularoni, made its 2010 presentation with the Scot prototypes that the structure will use for the forthcoming Moto2 season, in the official colours of the Republic of San Marino.

Present at the event were the two riders who will carry the challenge for the team this season – San Marinese Alex de Angelis and Italian Niccolò Canepa. De Angelis enters the World Championship intermediate category campaign with a bike designed and produced at the team’s headquarters which are no more than 200 metres from his home, and with the aim this year to open the door back to MotoGP.

Team Manager Mularoni, also San Marinese, reinforced the idea of competing in the premier class in the future. He said: “We had been thinking of Alex de Angelis as a rider for our team for a long time. We wanted to have a San Marinese project in MotoGP but we will start in the new Moto2 category, which is an innovative Championship that in my opinion will be a very interesting spectacle.”

“Our World Championship team logically has ambitions to have the strongest riders to maintain its position, and to participate with a neighbour in this new adventure gives it even more significance.”

“Alongside Alex, Niccolò Canepa is a rider who knows 4-stroke bikes very well, and his experience will not just be valuable in the World Championship but for the development of our prototype as well. We have created a bike which has benefitted from years of know-how from competing at the highest level, but we cannot underestimate the delicate process of post-production testing,” concluded Mularoni.

Canepa and De Angelis will take part in the final official test of the pre-season for the Moto2 and 125cc categories at Jerez, which is scheduled to run from March 27-29.
