Vázquez: “There will be no points or podiums decided at Jerez”

The 125cc rider is amongst the favourites for the title after his displays in the Tests so far, and on Saturday begins the final preparation before the start of the season.

The final official pre-season Test begins at Jerez this Saturday for those who will compete in the 2010 125cc World Championship, and for Bainet Derbi rider Efrén Vázquez it will be a chance to underline his title credentials after strong displays at the first two which have so far taken place at Valencia and Jerez.

“So far the work completed has been very fruitful and has allowed us to advance well in our preparations. Now we have to progress and improve what we achieved at this circuit three weeks ago,” explained Vázquez.

“Every rider faces different things in these Tests. We will go out reinforced by the previous Tests and this one will give us further references for our mechanical, physical and mental levels.”

Vázquez is adamant that nothing will be decided this weekend: “No points or podiums will be awarded”. Rather, he believes the Test will serve as a chance for a final assessment of each rider’s level before the season starts in Qatar on April 11th.
