Márquez completes session sweep with warm up

Marc Márquez (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) completed his preparations for the 125cc race at Indianapolis with the fastest time in warm up, getting within three-tenths of a second of his pole position time. The Red Bull Ajo Motorsport rider’s lap of 1’48.352 was 0.490s quicker than second fastest Bradley Smith (Bancaja Aspar).

The British rider had led for much of the session and eventually finished second, 0.192s ahead of team-mate Nico Terol who will also start from the front row of the grid. Luis Salom (Stipa-Molenaar Racing) completed the top four, with Pol Espargaró (Tuenti Racing) fifth at just under nine-tenths off Márquez’s time.

Efrén Vázquez (Tuenti Racing), front-row starter Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo), Esteve Rabat (Blusens-STX), Danny Webb (Andalucia Cajasol) and Randy Krummenacher (Stipa-Molenaar Racing) completed the top ten in a session that was run in sunshine and with a track measuring 27ºC.

The 125cc race is due to start at 12pm local time.
