Terol takes top spot again in FP2 125cc

The second practice session of the day for 125cc, saw Nicolas Terol (Bankia Aspar) yet again top the timesheets at the Losail International Circuit.

The Bankia Aspar rider’s fastest lap was 1.7 seconds quicker than the quickest time set in FP1 earlier in the evening.

Sandro Cortese (Intact Racing Team Germany) produced another good lap to progress from third quickest in FP1 to second in FP2. Jumping up from seventh in FP1, Héctor Faubel (Bankia Aspar) was third quickest in the second session.

Spaniard Luis Salom (RW Racing GP) remained fouth quickest in the second practice, but had improved on his lap time by around two seconds, which was the same for the majority of the other riders.

Jonas Folger (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) dropped from second in first practice, to fifth in the second session, but was ahead of Efrén Vázquez (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo Motorsport) in sixth and Johann Zarco (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo Motorsport).

The top ten were covered by a large gap of 2.509 seconds. Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) improved from 12th in FP1 to an impressive 8th despite an off track excursion. The last two places inside the top ten went to Alberto Moncayo (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica) and Sergio Gadea (PEV-Blusens-SMX Paris Hilton).

The first ever Indian rider to race in the sport full time, Sarath Kumar (WTR-Ten10 Racing) crashed at the beginning of the session and was unhurt. Portuguese rider, Miguel Oliveira (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica) also had an off track excursion midway through the practice but was able to continue.

The Brit pack of Danny Webb (Mahindra Racing), Harry Stafford (Ongetta-Centro Seta) and Taylor Mackenzie (Phonica Racing) finished 16th, 26th and 27th respectively.
