According to Swiss website, Thomas Lüthi could form part of the 2012 MotoGP grid. The rider’s manager, Daniel Epp, who has already led a team in MotoGP when he put together the Interwetten Honda outfit with Hiroshi Aoyama riding in 2010, is preparing for the return of a Swiss rider to the premier class. The last Swiss rider in the elite category was Eskil Suter, who competed in the 1998 500cc World Championship.

“My desire to move up to MotoGP has never been a secret,” Lüthi said to Swiss agency ATS. “I hope to be there sooner or later, but this isn’t the most important thing at the moment. Right now I’m focusing solely on the next (Moto2) race at Estoril.”
