Home Grand Prix draws closer for Sofuoglu

The Grand Prix of Turkey will be one to remember for Kenan Sofuoglu, World Supersport rider. Not only will the youngster be watching his home Grand Prix, but he will also have his brother Sinan on the grid as a wildcard in 250cc.

Sinan Sofuoglu will be competing in the second Grand Prix of his career with the Wurth Honda BQR team. He debuted in Jerez this season, although his times left him outside the qualification requirements for the race itself.

"I'm really happy for my brother. He had the opportunity to participate in Jerez, and now he will have the chance to run in his home race. It's a great step forward for the sport and will also bring more Turkish people to MotoGP. I hope that he has a good race. I'm not going to miss the race on TV if I can't get to Istanbul in time!" said Kenan.

Kenan Sofuoglu is involved in one of the strongest teams in the World Supersport series.

"Now I'm really focused on the season with Winston Ten Kate Honda, we've prepared for the race in Valencia and we go to Monza straight from the Turkish GP. Obviously everybody wants to compete in MotoGP, but I want to take it step by step. I'm still young and I want to learn all the secrets to being a successful rider."
