Terol tops Portuguese 125cc warm up

Nicolas Terol (Bankia Aspar was fastest in the warm up session for today’s bwin Grande Prémio de Portugal, ahead of Sandro Cortese (Intact-Racing Team Germany) and Jonas Folger (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport).

With the twenty minute warm up session held in bright sunshine, times were still 3 seconds off the pace set in qualifying as the track continued to dry out from rain which had fallen overnight. The pole sitter for this afternoon set the quickest lap of 1’48:978, which was nearly half a second quicker than Cortese who he pipped in the final minutes of warm up.

Bankia Aspar’s Adrián Martín and Héctor Faubel were fourth and fifth, ahead of Alberto Moncayo (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica). Sergio Gadea (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing) was seventh.

Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport), Luis Salom (RW Racing GP) and Maverick Viñales (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing) were the final riders inside the top ten.

The 125cc class will not start proceedings for Sunday as they traditionally do, due to a change in the schedule, they will race after Moto2 and MotoGP this weekend.
