Focus now on Barcelona for Pramac pair

After a disappointing home race for Frenchman Randy de Puniet and his Italian team-mate Loris Capirossi at Le Mans, the Pramac Racing duo are now concentrating on the next round of the 2011 campaign.

A front end problem for Randy de Puniet put paid to the Frenchman’s hopes of scoring a memorable result in front of his home crowd at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France on Sunday, as the Pramac Racing rider crashed out on the opening lap.

It was a similarly frustrating Round 4 experience for his Italian team-mate Loris Capirossi, who was involved in the battle for ninth position but also crashed. Capirossi went down with seven laps remaining, rounding off a frustrating weekend for the team who are now fully focused on the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya which takes place in just over two weeks.

Randy de Puniet:
“I don’t know what to say, I don’t understand how I managed to fall like this. It was very strange, the front suddenly lost grip and I slipped. I'm disappointed and angry, I wanted to do well in this race. I'm sorry about what happened this morning with Casey (in the warm up). I was adjusting the brake, thinking that I had no one behind. Then, suddenly, I saw Casey coming behind me at full speed, I tried to leave the track to him, but unfortunately I went where he was pointing. I'm sorry and even if his reaction was not the best, for me it's all been put in the past and I hold nothing against him.”

Loris Capirossi:
“So much bad luck. I was waiting for the end of the race to attack the group, I had the chance to recover some positions. Then Bautista slowed suddenly, as he was fighting as well with another rider, and I couldn’t avoid touching him and this made me fall. There is always something wrong, unfortunately. Now there is little to say, we have to forget this race quickly. The next round is at Barcelona, and I’m hoping that luck will be with us there."
