Iannone leads wet warm up in Barcelona

Iannone leads wet warm up in Barcelona

Andrea Iannone (Speed Master) was fastest in the rainy 20 minute Moto2 warm up session for the Premi Aperol de Catalunya. Second fastest was Xavier Simeon (Tech 3 B) and Kenan Sofuoglu (Technomag-CIP).

Andrea Iannone bounced back after crashing out of qualifying yesterday by heading up the warm up session this morning. The wet conditions slowed the Moto2 session considerably, with a top time from Iannone of 2'00.964, compared to the pole position time of Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) 1’46.753, who finished the warm up fifth fastest.

Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2) finished ahead of Bradl in fourth, though crashed out late in the session due to the slick conditions. Fifth place qualifier Marc Márquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) was sixth fastest.

Aleix Espargaró (Pons HP 40), who will start second on the grid, was 28th fastest in the warm up.

Third place qualifier Yuki Takahashi (Gresini Racing) suffered a crash, as did Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2), Javier Forés (Mapfre Aspar) and Mashel Al Naimi (QMMF Racing Team).
