The current points leader took to the head of the field in the final seconds of the third practice outing, with Marc Márquez and Alex de Angelis completing the top three.

Stefan Bradl’s time of 1’38.361 on his last lap in the third and final free practice at Misano on Saturday morning handed the Viessmann Kiefer Racing rider the best time of the session, as the Championship leader set about preparing himself for an attempt at a seventh pole position of the season. The German rider edged Márquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) out of the top slot by just 0.004s.

Márquez posted a time of 1’38.365, an improvement of over half a second from his best time on Friday which he made in FP1. De Angelis (JiR Moto2) bettered his time by seven tenths with a posted lap of 1’38.600, moving the local rider into third on the leader board. Yuki Takahashi (Gresini Racing) improved his previous time by eight tenths with a time of 1’38.336, moving him into fourth.

Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing) stepped into the top five with a time of 1’38.995, while Speed Master rider Andrea Iannone’s time of 1’39.100 placed him sixth. Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2) followed 0.042s behind the Italian in seventh, and Michele Pirro (Gresini Racing Moto2) was eighth fastest in the session.

Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing) and Esteve Rabat (Blusens-STX) completed the top ten times of the outing, while Aleix Espargaró (Pons HP 40), who was third in the combined times on Friday, had a crash in turn 8 and did not improve on his previous time, finishing 13th in the session.
