Nicolas Terol was fastest off the mark in free practice ahead of Viñales and Zarco in the third free practice session Saturday morning at the Misano World Circuit.

Day two of the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini commenced in cooler temperatures than the extremely hot opening day, with Terol leading the field with a best effort of 1’43.592 to mark the fastest time of the weekend so far. The Bankia Aspar rider topped the session by a gap of 0.298s over Maverick Viñales (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing).

Viñales improved his best time by nearly a full second on his previous best time to record the second fastest lap of the session as he joined Terol under the 1’44” benchmark, while Johann Zarco (Avant AirAsia Ajo) was third on the timesheet at almost half a second off the number one spot with a time of 1’44.071.

In fourth position in the final 40 minute session was Héctor Faubel (Bankia Aspar) with a time of 1'44.153, while Sandro Cortese (Intact Racing Team Germany) completed the top five 0.251s behind Faubel.

Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport), wildcard Miroslav Popov (Ellegi Racing), Efrén Vázquez (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo)- who had a crash near the end of the outing - Miguel Oliveira (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica) and Sergio Gadea (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team) were all inside the top ten in the session.
