Warm up concludes with Viñales on top

Maverick Viñales topped the field in a slick morning warm up ahead of the Gran Premio Gernerali de la Comunitat Valenciana, the final race of the two-stroke era. Sandro Cortese and Jack Miller brought up second and third.

The final session before the last ever 125cc GP saw the single-cylinder class warming up on a slippery damp track, with fifth place starter Viñales (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing) claiming the top spot despite an early crash in the 20 minute session. The young Spaniard’s time of 1’54.900 was nearly a second faster than that of Cortese (Intact Racing Team Germany) who starts the GP just ahead of Viñales on the grid in fourth.

Jack Miller (Caretta Technology) led the session before crashing out at the halfway point, his time put him third in the session, ahead of Championship contender Johann Zarco (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo) in fourth. Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) completed the top five times, ahead of title favorite Nicolas Terol (Bankia Aspar) in sixth.

Pole position starter Danny Webb (Mahindra Racing) was eleventh in the session with fellow front row starter Louis Rossi (Matteoni Racing) 16th.
