Terol returns to top in rainy FP3

The opening practice session of the Cardion ab Grand Prix České republiky on Saturday concluded with Nico Terol back in the lead of the 125 class, lapping in front of fellow competitors Johann Zarco and Danny Kent.

The Bankia Aspar rider, who was fastest of the day on Friday, lapped consistently at the front of a waterlogged FP3 at Brno on Saturday morning, at one point over 3 seconds faster than the field, to finally close the session with a best effort of 2'19.026. Johann Zarco (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo) put in a final fast lap to challenge the Spaniard, with a time of 2'19.343 to place him second. British rider Danny Kent of the Red Bull Ajo Motorsport team followed the Championship leaders with a time of 2'20.091.

Danny Webb (Mahindra Racing) put in a fast lap of 2'20.146 to place him fourth on the charts, followed up by Luis Salom (RW Racing GP) to complete the top five.

Alberto Moncayo (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica), who was seventh fastest on Friday, had a crash entering turn 3 and British rider Taylor Mackenzie (Phonica Racing) crashed on his final lap while pushing hard to better his 30th place position of the day before.
