Jonas Folger sent home due to illness
Following his recovery from a lengthy and debilitating bacterial infection almost two months ago, the Red Bull Ajo Motorsport rider fell ill again at Brno and will not participate in the 125cc race on Sunday.
The 17 year old German rider suffered a collapse on Thursday afternoon in Brno, the cause of which is yet unconfirmed. His symptoms of dizziness, nausea, low blood pressure and low body temperature persisted until Friday, when ahead of the first practice session, he was determined to be unfit for track participation and was sent home further testing.
“The disappointment is huge. Even more as I’ll turn 18th on Saturday. I wanted to celebrate this with really good results,” said Folger. “But the decision of the doctors is to be respected and it is probably the best for me. Now I'll consult the best available doctors for a thorough check as I want to race in top condition - as soon as possible.”
