Iannone to continue in Moto2 with Speed Master
Moto2™ is powered byAfter speculation over a possible step up to the premier class the Italian rider will remain with his team in Moto2 in 2012.
The Speed Master Team has confirmed that Andrea Iannone will remain in Moto2 next season with the Italian set-up.
Iannone, who has finished third in the Moto2 World Championship for the past two years, will ride an FTR machine as he mounts a title challenge in the intermediate class.
The 22 year-old, who has won six Moto2 races in two seasons in the category, had been rumoured to be set for a step up to MotoGP, but will remain in Moto2 for another year. Iannone’s crew chief for the 2012 season will be Eros Braconi.
Confirmation also came on Wednesday of the Speed Master team’s 2012 plans for MotoGP, in which it will run a MotoGP CRT entry.
