Márquez confirms frontrunner status in morning warm up
Moto2™ is powered byPole sitter Márquez set the pace in the Moto2 class warm up, ahead of the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland race.
Marc Márquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) set clear intentions today that is the favorite for the win, setting a fastest lap of 1’25.153 after completing just four laps in the morning warm up session. The young Spaniard was 0.392s ahead of second place starter Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing). The German rider was just 0.002s quicker than Alex de Angelis (JiR Moto2), who will start the race from the sixth spot on the grid.
Front row starter Aleix Espargaró (Pons HP 40) posted fourth fastest time, followed by Englishman Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing) who will start from the third row was fifth. Julián Simón (Mapfre Aspar), Yuki Takahashi (Gresini Racing), Simone Corsi (Ioda Racing Project), Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2) and Andrea Iannone (Speed Master) completed the top ten in the times.
The intermediate class is scheduled for 29 laps and will begin at 12:15 local time.
