A number of riders and their teams stayed on for two extra days following the GP in Portugal to Test at the circuit.

Tom Lüthi led the way on the second and final day of a Moto2 Test at Estoril in Portugal, as a number of riders and their teams opted to stay on for two extra days following Sunday’s GP. Tuesday and Wednesday offered good conditions for those present in which to complete some important work.

Interwetten Paddock Moto2 rider Lüthi’s effort of 1’40.8 (unofficial time) from 52 laps on Wednesday was the quickest by three-tenths of a second ahead of Marc Márquez, and was also some eight-tenths faster than race winner Stefan Bradl’s pole position time from the weekend.

Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol rider Márquez had a minor fall going in the Parabolica corner late in the day, and ended the Test satisfied with his efforts. Pol Espargaró recovered from an early crash on Wednesday to set the third fastest time, with Claudio Corti, Scott Redding and Mika Kallio all also in action.

There was just one 125 team present, as Marcel Schrötter and Danny Webb of the Mahindra Racing team continued development of the Indian manufacturer’s machine, with encouraging results.
