Moto2™ is powered byMonday, 11 July 2011
The Mapfre Aspar rider took to the Spanish track on board a Moto2 machine on Sunday, the first time he had ridden since his accident in the Gran Premi de Catalunya at the start of June.
Julián Simón took another step in his recovery from injury on Sunday when he rode a Suter Moto2 machine at the Albacete circuit. The Spanish rider stepped on board the Laglisse team’s prototype after the fourth round of the CEV Buckler (Spanish National Championship) had been completed at the track, as he tested his feeling on a bike for the first time since he suffered a double fracture in his right leg at the Catalunya GP on June 5th.
The intense heat meant that Simón commenced his test at 6pm, and he completed a scheduled 15 laps as he made a further assessment on his recovering fitness.
