Technomag-CIP steps up to Moto3 challenge

Thursday, 1 September 2011

After joining the Moto2 World Championship adventure at its inception, the Technomag-CIP team just received official confirmation that they will run in the brand new for 2012 World Championship category, Moto3.

Team owner Alain Bronec has chosen the young Japanese rider, Kenta Fujii, to pilot the new machinery. The 17 year old was the 2010 Japanese GP Mono Champion, having previously placed second in 2009 and third in 2008 in the class. This year he is competing in the All Japan Championship Moto3 class and has just claimed victory at the Sugo round.

Alain Bronec:
“The team is very excited by this new adventure which has just begun. We have a wonderful challenge to face next year: Running in Moto3 with one rider Kenta Fujii, and running the Moto2 class with two riders, while keeping our way of doing things and reaching successes.”

Kenta Fujii:
"I am very happy and extremely excited. I think I'll eventually realize the responsibility I am taking on when I begin in the Moto3 World Championship. For now, on this weekend, I'll savour my victory in Sugo on my Honda NSF250R (in the All Japan Championship Moto3 class), just in front of 125cc 2 strokes. I am the first rider ever in the world who won a race with a NSF 250R."

The Technomag-CIP team now heads to Misano for the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini this weekend, where team rider Dominique Aegerter and replacement rider for the injured Kenan Sofuoglu, Tomoyoshi Koyama, will compete in the Moto2 category.
