Fifth fastest time and a crash for Abraham in MotoGP test
Karel Abraham successfully completed the official MotoGP test at the Mugello Circuit where he set a fantastic lap time of 1’48.950, the fifth fastest time of the day.
In an attempt to find a good set-up on the Ducati Desmosedici GP11, the Cardion AB Motoracing rider completed 46 laps and finished only 1.624 seconds behind the fastest rider Casey Stoner.
”We tried a lot of things today,” said twenty-one year old, who posted the fifth fastest lap. “We made significant changes and solved problems we had during the race weekend.”
The Ducati factory offered the Cardion AB Motoracing team to test a new front fork, which Karel Abraham was unable to try due to a massive highside crash at the Casanova turn.
“My rear tire slipped during the entering to the corner and I crashed,” he admitted. “My whole body hurts now,” added Abraham, who was unable to return to the crash afterwards.
Abraham’s best lap was 0.728 seconds faster than his best time in the qualifying practice for the Grand Prix of Italy.
