Adrián Martín joins Bancaja Aspar
The young Spanish rider has secured a ride with the prestigious 125cc team for the 2011 World Championship.
The Bancaja Aspar 125cc team has confirmed that Spanish rider Adrián MartÃn will ride with them in 2011, joining 2010 World Championship runner-up Nico Terol and Héctor Faubel in a strong three-rider structure.
MartÃn, who rode five races with the team in 2008, completed his first full season in the 125cc class last year riding with the Aeroport de Castelló-Ajo team and finished 15th overall.
“I believe Adrián has enough to play a main role in the 125cc class this season,†said Team Manager Jorge MartÃnez ‘Aspar’ of the 19 year-old. “It’s his second full year and although he’s young and still learning he has potential. With Terol and Faubel as team-mates he can learn a lot and gain experience.â€
He continued: “We return to a three-rider structure in 125cc that has given us great results in previous years. We’ll have a lot of work as we’ll have six riders across all three classes, but the team is very excited at this new project.â€
MartÃn added: “It makes me very proud to ride with the Aspar Team, a winning team and one highly respected in this class. I’ll have an official (Aprilia) bike and will be alongside two fantastic riders, from whom I’m sure I can learn a lot.â€
“It’s early to make predictions, but to finish every race amongst the top ten positions would be very positive. It’s my second full season, I’m learning all the time, and I hope I can take a massive step forward,†he concluded.
