Bradl begins Czech weekend on form
Moto2™ is powered byChampionship leader Bradl set a dominating pace ahead of De Angelis and Espargaró in the opening Moto2 session of the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceské republiky.
The Moto2 class got underway on Friday morning at Brno with Stefan Bradl laying down the best lap of 2'03.586 on board his Viessmann Kiefer Racing machine, nearly a second improvement over the official circuit record set by Toni Elias in 2010. The Championship leader was 0.149s faster than Alex de Angelis (JiR Moto2) and 0.216s quicker than the Pons HP 40 bike of Aleix Espargaró.
Julián Simón (Mapfre Aspar), who topped the timing with 25 minutes to go in the session, settled into fourth place with a time of 2'03.853, in front of Andrea Iannone (Speed Master) and Esteve Rabat (Blusens-STX), the last of the group to post under the 2’04” mark.
Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing) posted a lap time of 2'04.130 to put him seventh, with Claudio Corti (Italtrans Racing), Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2) and Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing ) completing the top 10.
The only crash of the session was that of Max Neukirchner (MZ Racing), who fell in turn 7.
