Moto2™ is powered byThe new team presented its Moto2 World Championship project along with rider Andrea Iannone in Milan.
Andrea Iannone unveiled his Suter MMXI in Milan on Tuesday, kicking off his second season in the Moto2 World Championship.
“This new team was born and created for Andrea, for his perseverance and his talent,” said Regalino Iannone – Andrea’a father – as he introduced the team.
The Speed Master team, announced at the stylish Boscolo Exedra Milan Hotel, is a completely “made in Italy” project and has been brought on by the will to succeed and the rider’s winning qualities. Through this adventure, the Italian star is supported by his father Regalino, his friend Alessio Salucci, and by Silvio Vercilli, who deals with organisational matters of the team and who is also the creator of Wido, the first electronic protective helmet.
Alessio Salucci commented: “I admire Andrea because he closes the gas with energy and reopens it quickly. I don’t think I would have stepped in to be part of such an adventure with a different rider.”
Andrea – who has been dealing with an interesting pre-season – did not hide his ambitions either: “I don’t really like to be the man on the scene, I like to prove what I am worth when I am on my bike. In this team we have a lot of enthusiasm and experience, and I believe we have the right things in place to achieve top results. Now, we just have to start the engine and begin the Championship.”
