The Spaniard registered the best time on all three days at the Valencia Test, and upon its conclusion stated clearly his goal for the 2011 World Championship.

The first Test of the year for the 125cc class at Valencia proved to be a productive one for Nico Terol, who was top of the timesheet on all three days and set the fastest lap of the entire outing (1’40.0) on Saturday.

“I progressed each day, the weather was great and the track had very good grip. We’ve been working hard to find my best possible feeling with the bike,” said Terol.

“We only made minimal changes because we had a good base. On Saturday I had a small problem with the engine, but the team worked really well and we found a solution, and in the end the feeling with the bike was good. I’m satisfied with this first Test of the year. Now we have another Test at Estoril and then one at Jerez, in order to have everything ready for the first race in Qatar.”

Discussing his aims for the 2011 World Championship having finished runner-up last year, Terol said: “The objective is to be World Champion, that’s the reason I’ve remained in the 125cc class for another year. But there are many factors that play a part, and I will give my all and see what happens.”

“My (Bancaja Aspar) team-mate Héctor Faubel will be a great rival, he was World Championship runner-up in this class (in 2007), and there will also be Cortese, Gadea and Vázquez, and others. You always have to be ready at 100%,” concluded Terol.
