Márquez sets tempo in Moto2 warm up

Marc Márquez was the fastest rider in the 20 minute session ahead of Iveco TT Assen Moto2 race, ahead of Bradley Smith and Aleix Espargaró.

Second place starter Márquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) lead a cold intermediate class warm up session with a time of 1’39.823. Smith (Tech 3), who starts from 10th on the grid, clocked the second quickest time with Aleix Espargaró (Pons HP 40) who starts sixth lapping third in the timings.

Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing) crashed out of the session, but not before he set a fourth quickest lap, followed by Pol Espargaró (HP Tuenti Speed Up). Completing the top ten were Randy Krummenacher (GP Team Switzerland Kiefer Racing), Xavier Simeon (Tech 3 B), Kenan Sofuoglu (Technomag-CIP), Michele Pirro (Gresini Racing Moto2), and Mike Di Meglio (Tech 3 Racing).

Tom Lüthi (Interwetten Moto2 Paddock), who will start from fourth on the grid, crashed out of the warm up session.

Pole position starter and current Championship leader Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) posted a cautious 16th fastest time.
