Márquez warm ups fastest of the field

While the sun quickly warmed the track, the intermediate class concluded the morning warm up with Márquez taking the top spot with a lap of 1'45.008 aboard his Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol machine, 0.134s faster than Aleix Espargaró (Pons HP 40), who led the field with 7 minutes remaining and will start the race from seventeenth on the grid. Esteve Rabat (Blusens-STX) followed the pace set by Márquez 0.150s behind.

Simone Corsi (Ioda Racing Project) posted the fourth quickest time, the Italian will start from second on the after he missed out on pole position by one thousandth of a second to Márquez. Fifth fastest time was posted by Andrea Iannone (Speed Master), who also starts the race from the front row, while Pol Espargaró (HP Tuenti Speed Up) lapped seventh quickest in the outing.

Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) was 12th in the session, the Championship leader will start the race from the 22nd position.

Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing), who starts from the head of the second row, crashed out with 8 minutes remaining but quickly rejoined the field, while American wildcard Jake Gagne (GPTech) had a fall in the last three minutes of practice.
