Yuki Takahashi’s brother passes away
Moto2™ is powered byKoki Takahashi, younger brother of Moto2 World Championship rider Yuki, was tragically killed in a road traffic accident in Japan on Sunday.
Koki Takahashi, the younger brother of Moto2 World Championship rider Yuki Takahashi, passed away on Sunday April 24th following a road traffic accident in Saitama, Japan. Koki, aged 23, was on his way home having participated in a charity event to raise funds for the Japanese earthquake recovery effort. His funeral will take place on May 3rd and 4th.
Koki had ridden as a wildcard entry in the World Championship on three occasions, twice in the former 250cc category and last year in the Moto2 race at Motegi, and was this year scheduled to take part in the Supersport 600 category of the All Japan Road Race Championship.
Yuki Takahashi, currently riding for the Gresini Racing Moto2 team, has taken the decision to compete in this weekend’s bwin Grande Prémio de Portugal at Estoril.
