Barberá to attempt Indianapolis despite injury

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

Héctor Barberá is set to attempt to ride at Indianapolis this coming weekend despite the Pramac Racing Team announcing last week that Toni Elías was to substitute for the injured rider.

Barberá, who four weeks ago broke his fibula and tibia in a training crash, has made significant progress in his rehabilitation in the last week, and will evaluate his ability to ride in the first free practice session on Friday morning.

Elías, who was the replacement rider in Laguna Seca, will be on-hand to fill in once more, should Barberá be in too great a discomfort.
