Remembering the 125 class: 2006

motogp.com recalls the most memorable and exciting races of the last 20 years in the historical 125cc category.

motogp.com’s special section commemorating the retired 125cc class continues with a look at 2006, a year marked by the clear domination of Avaro Bautista, who finished 76 points ahead of runner-up Mika Kallio.

The race chosen for today is the Catalunya round. In addition to a win by Alvaro Bautista, the rest of the podium held two more Spanish riders in the forms of Héctor Faubel and Sergio Gadea, with Pol Espargaró becoming the youngest rider to score points in a GP at only 15 years and 8 days old.
