Rookie Bradl set for "physical" Jerez race

Rookie Bradl set for 'physical' Jerez race

Following a superb performance in his first ever MotoGP™ race in Qatar where he finished eighth, Moto2™ World Champion Stefan Bradl is looking to continue his positive start to the season at this weekend´s Jerez race.

Despite setting pole position for last year´s Moto2™ round at the southern Spanish track, Bradl knows that this year´s event is a whole other kettle of fish with the significantly more powerful and "animalistic" Honda RC213V bike. He will however be buoyed by the fact that he has had significant track time with his latest machine at Jerez during pre-season testing, and is confident of taking yet another positive step in his first ever MotoGP™ season.

Stefan Bradl

"I am really looking forward to the first round in Europe. We have tested the bike there in March gathering useful data for the race weekend and I was comfortable with the bike’s overall package. I am happy to be back in Europe because we return to the standard time schedule and the atmosphere especially in Spain is very warm. I like the track even if I feel the difference between the lower classes and the MotoGP™ bike: it seems that the track is smaller because the riding style is different. The race will be also harder (physically speaking) as there are no long straights and just a few "relax points" along the track but I feel ready."
