Crash.net: Shane Byrne may replace James Ellison at Le Mans

On racing news website crash.net it was reported that the Paul Bird Motorsport team may replace current rider James Ellison with PBM’s British Superbike rider Shane "Shakey" Byrne for the Le Mans round of the MotoGP™ championship.

Crash.net was quoting an interview team-owner Paul Bird gave on British Eurosport’s coverage of the Oulton Park BSB round, where he stated that he is keen to get a second opinion on the team’s ART bike, which Ellison claims is having serious chatter issues.

Byrne, who currently rides Kawasaki machinery for Paul Bird's PBM British Superbike team, would be making his first MotoGP appearance since 2005. During his time in MotoGP, he raced for Aprilia, Team Roberts and Honda Pons from 2004-2005, but never completed a full season due to injuries or team issues.
