Second in-season MotoGP™ test gets underway at Aragón

Second in-season MotoGP™ test gets underway at Aragón

A reduced number of MotoGP™ teams took to the Motorland Aragón test this morning to start the second of the season’s official tests.

The Yamaha Factory Racing team will be working on confirming what they found on Monday in terms of engine spec and electronics, whilst also working on the set-up for the track when the teams return for the race at the end of September. Their satellite team counterparts in the form of Monster Yamaha Tech 3 have more of a mixed schedule. Dovizioso, who finished Monday’s test fastest, will continue his work on the electronics and engine, whilst also confirming settings for the track, while Cal Crutchlow, who lost time due to his heavy crash in the first test, will be working through all the components he couldn’t test due to damage.

LCR Honda MotoGP’s Stefan Bradl will initially get his bike set up for the track, after which he will continue work on suspension and chassis stiffness, while San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Álvaro Bautista will work solely on Aragón bike settings.

The Ducati Team pair of Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden will not be testing the new aluminium swingarm, and will continue to focus their work on new bike settings, which they established at Monday’s test. Pramac Racing Team’s Héctor Barberá will evaluate electronics, while Cardion AB Racing’s Karel Abraham will make up for time after his crash by working on various set-up ideas.

The CRT field is being represented by NGM Mobile Forward Racing’s Colin Edwards, who will continue to improve the electronics and find a set-up for the track, while Avintia Blusens’ Iván Silva is evaluating the part-carbon Inmotec chassis. His teammate Yonny Hernandez will set the team’s FTR chassis up for the Aragón track.

Timings are available on, which will also bring you the end of day report after the test has come to a conclusion at 6pm local time.
