Silverstone Day of Champions a roaring success

Silverstone Day of Champions a roaring success

MotoGP™ stars and fans alike came out in force at Thursday’s Day of Champions at Silverstone, which raised a full £189,489 for the Riders for Health charity.

Many of the top riders entertained the crows up on stage and took time to auction off some very special items, raising £65,500 in just four hours! Among the 95 items donated to auction, some of the highlights included:

· Have your painting done with Valentino Rossi, which fetched £2,800.

· A pair of exclusive MotoGP grid and paddock passes, which sold for £1,650.

· A two-seat ride with Randy Mamola, including a pair of paddock passes and Ducati hospitality, which sold for a whopping £3,100.

· A custom-made replica Marco Simoncelli helmet donated by his father, Paolo Simoncelli, which raised £2,000.

· A special canvas mural commissioned by the BBC featuring Cal Crutchlow and other British Champions which fetched £1,100.

· Bradley Smith’s leathers from his 100th grand prix at Le Mans raising £1,800.

Once the money raised in the auction is matched by the UK Government, the total raised by the Day of Champions will be an incredible £254,989.

Every donation made by a UK citizen to Riders until 14th September will be matched pound-for-pound by the UK Government. You can still text RFH to 70303 to donate £3, which will be doubled to £6 (UK only).
