Márquez leads sunny Silverstone warm-up

In much improved weather conditions at the Hertz British Grand Prix it was Marc Márquez who went fastest ahead of Pol Espargaró and Scott Redding.

After having struggled with set-up issues in the cooler conditions throughout the weekend, Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol’s Márquez was fastest in the morning’s warm-up session with a time of 2.07’941. He only marginally ousted today’s pole-sitter, Pons 40 HP Tuenti’s Espargaró, by less than a tenth, as the pair will look to resume their battle in the race.

Marc VDS Racing Team’s local rider Redding was half a second down on the Spanish duo in third, in front of Interwetten-Paddock’s Tom Lüthi, who looked to have rediscovered some of his form this morning after a disappointing qualifying yesterday. The top five was completes by Came IodaRacing Project’s Simone Corsi, staking yet another case for his out-of-favour FTR chassis.
