CEV Buckler: Márquez, Torres and Morales on pole at Albacete Circuit

Today has been a compelling day of qualifying at the Albacete Circuit for the fifth round of the CEV Buckler 2012. Riders and their teams have fought in the relentless heat in this morning’s qualifying sessions to determine the starting grids for tomorrow’s racing.

Recently confirmed as a rider in next year’s Moto3™ World Championship, Álex Márquez, has proved that the CEV is still his priority. The young Catalan was fastest in the Moto3TM category. A few thousandths of a second behind him was Marcos Ramirez, closely followed by Albert Arenas, who completes the first row.

In Moto2™, Jordi Torres –who will become a permanent rider in this year’s Moto2™ World Championship in Indianapolis– will start the race on pole. After having competed in the Moto2TM World Championship at the start of the season, Ángel Rodríguez returns to the CEV Buckler with the second fastest qualifying time. Dani Rivas also rejoins the competition, completing the top 3 following his ankle injury.

For the third consecutive race, Carmelo Morales will start on pole in the Stock Extreme race. The Catalan was quicker than his two main rivals in the fight for the title, Xavi Forés and Kyle David Smith who will start in second and third.
