Iannone and Redding to test Ducati at Mugello

Speaking after the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, Ducati Team manager Vittoriano Guareschi confirmed that Moto2™ riders Andrea Iannone and Scott Redding will be testing the Desmosedici at Mugello this week.

With the next MotoGP™ and Moto2™ races only taking place in just under three weeks time, the Italian confirmed that this provided an ideal opportunity for the intermediate-class youngsters to prove their skills the Ducati machine. With Nicky Hayden having recently signed a one-year extension, and Valentino Rossi not yet having decided his future next year, even further speculation has surrounded the satellite teams of Cardion AB Racing and Pramac Racing.

Cardion’s Karel Abraham has missed four races due to injury and has struggled to get to grips with the Desmosedici, while Pramac’s Héctor Barberá is currently out with a broken left fibula and tibia. None of the current satellite teams have made statements about their future next year, yet there have been suggestions that Redding’s Marc VDS Racing Team may run a satellite Ducati next year with the British youngster on board. Andrea Iannone is currently part of the Speed Master team, which fields and Aprilia ART in the in the MotoGP class.
