Bradls go Blues Brothers for father-son chat

Bradls go Blues Brothers for father-son chat

In LCR Honda MotoGP’s monthly magazine "Inspire", their German rookie takes part in a rather unusual family chat with his father Helmut, who was also once a rider in the Grand Prix series.

Bradl, who has been on terrific form since entering the premier class this year after taking the Moto2™ world title last season, caught up with his father and personal mentor Helmut Bradl, who himself was a racing legend in Germany. And it seems as if their relationship was best summed up by depicting them as the Blues Brothers.

The pair discuss a range of both serious and light hearted topics, with father Helmut often adding the comedy edge. When asked about what the worst thing about the LCR team was, son Stefan responded: "At the beginning we were testing the 800cc machine and also the first time in Malaysia I was a bit worried…I remember I could not sleep properly the first night…I did not know the guys and my chief engineer was very strict with me. So that time was very difficult for me and sometimes I thought ‘Maybe I am wrong…Maybe I made the wrong choice..’ But after some days we found the right confidence and everything is working good now."

To which Helmut responded: "There’s no German Weissbier in Hospitality…."
