De Angelis gains momentum ahead of home race

NGM Mobile Forward Racing’s Alex de Angelis will be heading into his home race at Misano in two weeks time brimming with confidence after a terrific ride in Brno last time out.

Starting from the 18th position of the grid due to a crash during qualifying, the San Marino rider was on fantastic form as he made his way past 13 other riders through the course of the race to finishing in sixth position at Brno.

In only his fifth race since switching from the Suter to the FTR chassis, De Angelis proved once again that the bike is a competitive package, and will be hoping to emulate his only podium this season in Germany once he lines up at Misano. His race in Brno was a much needed confidence boost after not finishing the last two rounds, albeit with the last one not his fault.

The podium at Misano has eluded the local so far, yet after recording fourth place last year, the next step will be firmly in his sight.

Alex de Angelis

“I am extremely happy with my 6th place in the Brno race, for the comeback and for the lap times during the race, which were similar to the ones done by the front group riders. It was a pity to start the race so far back on the grid, as the bike felt great. If I had started the race further up I could have been fighting with the front group. We have to be happy to be back in the top six, which is where we wanted to be and we hope to be able to remain at this level and improve. I am really looking forward to Misano.”
