Bimota on steep development curve ahead of Misano

Bimota on steep development curve ahead of Misano

Italian chassis manufacturer Bimota, currently competing in the Moto2™ World Championship with the Desguaces La Torre SAG Team and rider Marcel Schrötter is on a steep development curve ahead of the Misano race in order to overturn its top-speed deficit.

Schrötter and the HB4 2012 Bimota recently underwent rigorous testing at a wind tunnel to evaluate the aerodynamics of the bike and rider combination, to understand why the team is loosing out on top speed to its rivals.

Following analysis of the gathered data, the Desguaces La Torre SAG Team will be able to put its findings to the test for real when it undertakes a private test at the Italian circuit of Vallelunga, 40 kilometres north of Rome. In addition to testing new aerodynamic modifications, the team will also bring a completely new chassis. The test will be held early next week ahead of the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini in Misano.

The team has not had the season it had hoped for so far, failing to take any points with the three riders that have occupied the seat before Schrötter in the form of Ángel Rodríguez, Damian Cudlin and Massimo Roccoli. The team’s second rider, Marco Colandrea, riding an FTR, has also failed to score points this season.
