Sepang International Circuit and Asia Motorsport Development announce the Inaugural MotoGP™ Motorsport Business Forum

Asia Motorsport Development and Sepang International Circuit have joined forces to host a Motorsport Business Forum during race week on 18 October 2012 at the Pan Pacific Hotel at KLIA, the day preceding the 22nd MotoGP™ event in Malaysia which takes place 19, 20, 21 October 2012.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together the motorcycle business community with the two-wheel racing fraternity for delegates and attendees to hear from motorcycle businesses and motorcycle racing communities on the status of their current programs and to learn from industry experts about the overall status of the motorcycle industry.

This conference is geared towards equipment manufacturers, raw material suppliers, analysts and marketing executives as well as participants and businesses involved in racing on two wheels, all of whom will walk away with new knowledge about the industry.

The conference is deliberately timed to precede the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix and has an excellent networking format with extended breaks between sessions for delegates and participants to be able to speak with each other and generally network with the community that will be present.

The one day conference will feature speakers from the local motorcycle industry as well as key players from Dorna who will be attending along with sponsors of the MotoGP™ teams and members of the MotoGP™ community as well as MotoGP™ personalities.

Topics that will be covered are diverse, relevant and will include: Racing in Asia in the Future, Using Motorsport for Brand Awareness, How to Secure and Manage your Sponsors, Young Rider Development, The Role of Government in Motorsport, Safety in Motorsport.

Dato’ Razlan Razali, CEO of Sepang International Circuit, says of the planned event: "I am pleased and very excited about this inaugural Motorsport Business Forum. After 22 years of hosting this premiere event, this business event is long outstanding in conjunction with the MotoGP™ World Championship. The forum will provide networking opportunities and deep insights on all aspects from commercial, marketing and sponsorships and development. I would like to thank AMD for taking the lead and organising this event and especially to DORNA whom have been supportive and that Malaysia and SE Asia remains firmly in their agenda to grow the sport."

Owen Leed, founding partner of Asia Motorsport Development Pte Ltd, added: "The opportunity for individuals and organisations involved in the motorcycle industry in Malaysia and the South East Asia region to come together to share ideas and information could not be better timed than during MotoGP™ week in Malaysia. We sincerely believe that for the motorsport industry to thrive in the region more events like this should take place which in time will result in people walking the talk in terms of developing the two-wheel motorsport community safely and cost effectively."
