Cortese quickest in morning warm-up

In the morning warm-up for the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera de Rimini it was Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Sandro Cortese who led the way ahead of Maverick Viñales and Alex Rins.

The Moto3™ contingent was met with favourable dry conditions, allowing the riders to work further on their race set-up. And it was Cortese who set the fastest time of 1.45’191, relegating Blusens Avintia’s Viñales marginally into second place. The Spaniard will be pleased with his pace, after a mechanical issue saw him qualify down in eleventh yesterday. Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Alex Rins ended the morning in third.

Front row starters, Team Italia FMI’s Romano Fenati and San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Niccolò Antonelli, ended the morning in eighth and 17th respectively. Caretta Technology’s Jack Miller suffered his fourth crash of the weekend, whilst Fenati’s teammate Alessandro Tonucci also took a tumble. None of the riders were injured.
