Shoya Tomizawa remembered on Shoya’s Day

Today, the 21st September, marks Shoya’s day, a remembrance to the Japanese rider who died at Misano two years ago in the Moto2™ category, which features a special event held by the CIP team at Alès Pôle Mécanique.

The then CIP rider was remembered at last weekend’s Misano race by family, team members and friends, who laid flowers at the place of his death on the track. This is today followed up by a day dedicated "Shoya’s Day", which sees the CIP team hold a special event at the Alès Pôle Mécanique track in the south of France to commemorate the late rider.

It gives fans the opportunity to see a previously-unseen photo exhibition of Tomizawa, alongside meeting the current CIP team set-up. Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter is offering pillion rides, and people are also able to take their own machines out on track.

A special memorabilia in the shape of a "Shoya’s Day Collector T-shirt" is on sale for everyone, with the benefits going to his family.
